Does the Boomer Generation, along with individuals in their 30’s, 40’s and up fear the prospect of aging? You bet they do…and with good reason. As generations of Americans see themselves gaining weight, possessing less energy, developing illness, and losing the attributes of youth, they are panicking, wondering if there is any way to turn this horrid scenario around.

America embodies the supremacy of youth. Old age is disdained and disrespected, with this negative viewpoint reinforced daily by the media. It seems there is no escape from the discouraging point of view that becoming older inevitably entails becoming useless, debilitated, ugly and sexless. And who could possibly want that?

Everyone wants to healthy and vital... and we are all entitled to that. I'm happy to share that, at 76, I have the vitality and optimism of a far younger person.. This is not the result of good luck or a fortunate gene pool. My determination arose from my own fear of aging. Realizing that my negativity could become a self-fulfilling downward spiral, I vowed to do everything in my power never to allow myself to become the victim of Time. Rather than simply focusing on my own aging, I reinforced this vow with spiritual affirmation, pledging to dedicate my life to educating and inspiring others.

As an elder, it gives my life meaning to know that I am helping people create self-love and self-respect combined with a deep and powerful belief in their own individual value.

Being grateful for the gift of Time brings joy, beauty and value to Life.

Isn’t that what we are all ultimately striving for?

I believe it is.

The opposite of old isn't young... it's NEW!
